Dear Colleagues,

The TRIUMF Science Week 2017 will include a series of workshops aimed at
engaging the community in formulating the 2020-2025 Five Year Plan. The
goal of these workshops will be to foster collaboration and coordination
within the community to develop and realize the science case, concepts,
timelines and requirements for elements to go into the Plan.In
particular we aim to enable community members to carry new initiatives
forward to the Policy and Planning Advisory Committee (PPAC).

The Nuclear Physics Workshop will be held on Monday, July 10th.We would
like to invite members the nuclear physics community, both in Canada and
abroad, to participate in this workshop. In particular, we are soliciting
input on new initiatives and opportunities as well as ongoing projects
and programs in experimental and theoretical nuclear physics that fit
within the TRIUMF Vision and Mission, and which would take advantage of
TRIUMF’s unique capabilities – facilities, personnel, and expertise –
during the Five Year Plan timeframe. This can include anything from
relatively modest programs that are expected to continue into 2020, to
major long-term new projects for which initial collaboration and
planning would start before 2025.

The workshop will consist of four sessions of contributed talks, with
ample time for discussion. If you would like to participate, please
prepare a short plain-text abstract on the program or opportunity you
would like to discuss.Submission instructions will follow shortly. We
will endeavor to accommodate as many submissions with oral presentations
as feasible while still promoting discussion. In order to accommodate the
global span of the TRIUMF nuclear physics community, we will organize
this workshop as a videoconference, allowing for remote participation
for both presentations and discussions.

Further information on the TRIUMF 2020-2025 Five Year Plan process and
of Science Week 2017 may be found at http://www.triumf.ca/FYP2020-25.The
workshop web page,
https://indico.triumf.ca/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=2325, will include
the program and instructions on abstract submission.

We look forward to seeing you at TRIUMF Science Week 2017!

Sincerely,

The Nuclear Physics Workshop Organizing Committee
