Colleagues -
Following the recent power outage, teams have been working diligently to return TRIUMF to regular operations.
Repair work on the damaged conduit has been completed and new cables are being pulled later this week. Cryoplant repairs have been successfully completed. Preliminary testing of the cyclotron RF system has been conducted successfully. Further testing will be done when the vacuum reaches nominal value. Beamlines are being turned on.
Barring any other issues, we are on track to have the 520 MeV cyclotron back online mid-to-late Thursday, October 25th. Machine tuning will follow. Changes to the beam schedule have already been made and communicated to ISAC users. Radioactive beam to ISAC will be available for experiments starting Friday, October 26th, and ISAC II beam is expected to be available on Friday, November 9th. We will keep ISAC Users posted of any further updates to beam schedules. Should you have any questions on beam scheduling, please contact Chris Ruiz at ruiz at triumf.ca<mailto:ruiz at triumf.ca>
I want to thank everyone for their help in restoring regular operations. Moreover, I want to thank the TRIUMF and user communities for your understanding and patience during this unexpected downtime.

Reiner Kruecken
TRIUMF Deputy Director, Research
