Power outage scheduled for January 13, 2019:

Dear TRIUMF Community,



As you may already know, a site-wide power outage has been scheduled for Sunday, January 13, 2019. Power will be turned off at 8:00 am PT and will remain off for 10-12 hours.



This outage marks the next stage of repairs to the TRIUMF site following the incident last October, when a contractor accidentally drilled into a high-voltage duct bank. During this outage, teams will work to reconnect the underground lines to the transformer which feeds the site. Power across the whole site must be shut down in order to complete this work.



This outage will also be used as an opportunity to take measurements for the replacement of the ISAC switchgear. The measurements are needed to design and manufacture the new switchgear.



In preparation for this outage, remember to leave all equipment in a safe state before you leave TRIUMF on Friday, January 11, 2019. If you must keep your equipment running up to the last minute, please start the shutdown process no later than 7:30 am on Sunday, January 13.
