For the first time, the TUG-AGM will also be hosting *The Best
Student Prize Competitions* with generous support from TRIUMF.
Finalists will be selected on the basis of their CV, an abstract,
and one letter of recommendation, and will be invited to give an
oral presentation or to present a poster at the TUG AGM. There will
be cash prizes awarded for the student oral presentations (1st prize
$500, 2nd prize $250, two 3rd prizes $50 each) and for the top
student poster presentation ($150). The registration for the Best
Student Prize Competition opens on March 3rd and closes on April
2nd, 2015. More information can be found at <a

July 8th/9th - 4th International ARIEL Science Workshop

The Advanced Rare IsotopE Laboratory (ARIEL) <http://www.triumf.ca/ariel>
will be TRIUMF's flagship facility, expanding Canada's capabilities
to produce and study isotopes for science and medicine. In addition
to the e-linac, which is already funded, the ARIEL project includes
a second proton beamline for rare isotope production. Together with
the existing proton target for ISAC, the parallel operation of 3 RIB
production targets at TRIUMF will enable a broad spectrum of
world-class science.

The scope of the fourth ARIEL Science Workshop is: to inform the
international scientific community of the capabilities of ARIEL and
ISAC; to highlight technical progress made on various aspects of the
project; to identify unique and world-leading scientific goals
enabled by ARIEL and ISAC; and to identify facility upgrades needed
to reach those goals. Special attention will be paid to experiments
using fission products from ARIEL, experimental techniques, and
upgrades to experimental end stations.

Sincerely,
