<p class="MsoNormal">Dear TRIUMF Users,</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I promised an update on the status of the RF
system of TRIUMF’s main cyclotron and the pathway to restore beam
delivery. The TRIUMF team recognizes the impacts this rare and
unexpected disruption has had on many of you. Again, on behalf of
TRIUMF, I want to apologize for any inconveniences and issues it
might have caused.</p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">I would like to express my gratitude to all
members of the TRIUMF team for the enormous efforts they have put
forth in carrying out this challenging work both safely and
expeditiously.</p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">Following a thorough assessment, our expert
team has provided an update concerning the cyclotron RF
transmission line problem. As of Thursday evening, all parts have
been repaired, rebuilt, and/or cleaned. The team has started the
assembly today, Friday August 11. After completing the assembly,
low level RF measurements will take place, followed by high power
tests over the weekend. While pushing to high power may take
several days, an optimistic scenario would see us attempting beam
tuning as early as Monday, August 14.</p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">Following beam tuning, we will be in better
position to share information on anticipated timing of beam
delivery restoration. With that in mind, we will provide a further
update early next week. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"
style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto">Thank
