A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department of
Radiation Physics at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The primary research project involves developing methods to perform
radiation measurements in the presence of a strong magnetic field from a
MRI-linac. The ideal candidates should have finished their Ph.D. degrees
in medical physics, physics, or engineering. Experience in radiation
physics is essential. Experience with Monte Carlo simulations of
radiation transport, medical dosimetry and/or radiation measurements is
a great plus. Experience with the Monte Carlo toolkit Geant4 and
measurements using ionization chambers is highly desired. Good verbal
and written communication skills are also important. The individual is
expected to work within a large group of motivated interdisciplinary
professionals.

The Department of Radiation Physics in the Division of Radiation
Oncology provides clinical, research, and education services to one of
the largest and most advanced radiation oncology centers in the United
States. The Radiation Physics Department currently has more than 65
medical physicists to support various specialized treatment procedures.
The Division of Radiation Oncology is the best equipped for
research-driven patient care as well as research and development of new
technologies. Radiation Oncology currently has a 94,000 square-foot
Proton Therapy Center, 25 medical linear accelerators for photon
therapy, 8 CT simulators, and 3 PET-CT imaging systems.

Interested applicants should submit a CV with a full list of
publications, a brief statement of research interest, and the contact
details of three references to:
