Three Minute Thesis Jamboree (Sign up by Wednesday!)

Hi All,

There are still a few slots remaining for presenters in the *GAPS Three
Minute Thesis Jamboree*, which will be held this *Friday at 1:30pm* in the
MOB auditorium. (It would be especially nice to get some representation
from our female colleagues).

The prizes are $150 (1st) $75 (2nd) and $25 (3rd), paid as Amazon gift
cards.

To participate, all you need is a single slide (or no slide if you don't
think you need it), and a 3-minute-or-less spiel (or you could wing it on
the spot if you're a show-off). We have a panel of judges who will select
winners based on who does the best job convincing them that their research
is interesting and worthwhile.

Note that while the competition is called a Three Minute Thesis, this
doesn't have to be about your thesis work. The competition is open to
undergrads, grads and postdocs, and it should just be about your research.

To sign up, reply to this email *by the end of work on Wednesday*.

Even if you don't want to present, you can show up, enjoy some pizza, and
learn about what your fellow scientists do.
