GAPS 3MT: Deadline Oct. 17th!

The GAPS 3-Minute Thesis competition is approaching! The deadline to sign
up is Oct. 17th, and the competition will take place at lunchtime on Oct.
24th.

Tripping over your tongue in job interviews? Get some practice here!
Feeling like your friends start yawning whenever you talk about your work?
Sharpen your spiel to 3 minutes! Dreading having to explain what you do to
your family over Thanksgiving? This is your chance to practice for next
year!

Plus, PRIZES: $100 to first-place finishers in the Students and Postdocs
categories, and $50 to our People's Choice winner.

You'll get 3 minutes and 1 slide to impress the judges with your research
(thesis or otherwise). If you would like to participate in the
competition, please respond to this email with:
1. your name
2. the name of your supervisor (so we can avoid conflicts of interest in
our selection of judges)
3. whether you’re a student (grad or undergrad) or postdoc
4. the title of your talk (if you have one already)

Again: the deadline to register is October 17th.
