POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW IN RESONANCE IONIZATION LASER SPECTROSCOPY WITH RADIOACTIVE ION BEAMS AT CERN MEDICIS & CERN ISOLDE

KU Leuven, in collaboration with CERN ISOLDE, is opening a new post-doc position for resonance ionisation laser spectroscopy at CERN MEDICIS and CERN ISOLDE.
The successful candidate will integrate the existing RILIS and TISD teams at CERN and become responsible for the MEDICIS laser installation MELISSA, for the integration of the laser ion source trap (LIST) ion source at ISOLDE, and be able to participate in the general resonance laser ionisation effort at CERN (e.g., laser spectroscopy of radioisotopes and molecules with CRIS, photo-detachment of radioisotopes with GANDALPH).

We offer a 1-year post-doctoral position, renewable. We are looking for a laser specialist.
Knowledge of radioactive ion sources, RF and high power electronics, solid state lasers, and LabVIEW is a bonus.
