Dear Colleagues,

We have a postdoctoral position open in the Nuclear and Particle Physics Group at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The successful candidate will play a major role in carrying out experiments that use trapped-ion samples to precisely study the beta decay of 8Li, 8B, and other light nuclei to test fundamental symmetries in nuclear beta decay and to better understand the structure of exotic nuclei. These experiments will be performed at radioactive beam facilities such as ANL and TRIUMF and the data analysis will involve the development of detailed simulations and an in-depth characterization of the apparatus.

This is a 2 year Postdoctoral appointment with the possibility of extension to a maximum of 3 years. Eligible candidates are recent PhDs within five years of the month of the degree award at time of hire date.

To apply for this position, or for additional information, please follow the link https://careers-llnl.ttcportals.com/jobs/4675640. Any questions regarding the position can be directed to Aaron Gallant (gallant3 at llnl.gov<mailto:gallant3 at llnl.gov>) and Nicholas Scielzo (scielzo1 at llnl.gov<mailto:scielzo1 at llnl.gov>).

Review of applications will begin November 8th, 2019 and continue until the position is filled.
