Dear colleagues,

I want to inform you about an open PhD student position in experimental
nuclear physics available at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich,
Germany, in a collaborative R&D project between LMU Munich and GSI/FAIR.

The research activities of the PhD thesis project will be focused on
fission isomer studies in actinides to be performed with the cryogenic
buffer-gas stopping cell FRS Ion Catcher, including technical developments
to advance the performance of the device.

The successful candidate will be based at the GSI/FAIR research center in
Darmstadt/Germany.

The application deadline for the PhD position is August 31, 2020. For
further
information about the thesis project and instructions on how to apply,

May I kindly ask you to distribute this email to students that recently have
finished or soon will finish their undergraduate studies and who might be
interested in applying for this PhD position?

Best regards,

Peter Thirolf
