Dear TRIUMF students & postdocs,<br>
<br>
You have one week left to register for the <a
moz-do-not-send="true" href="https://ipac18.org/wise">IPAC'18 WISE
Reception</a> (May 1st). Why? To prepare yourself for leadership
and to network with physicists from around the world, junior to
senior. For what? Dinner + discussion on women in STEM.<br>
<br>
You may register for the event <b>Monday, April 23rd</b>, by either
modifying existing IPAC'18 registration or replying/emailing
<a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:wise@ipac18.org">wise@ipac18.org</a>. No need to be an accelerator physicist, nor to
attend IPAC.<br>
<br>
Thanks to those who have registered there, and we hope to see you
there!<br>

Best wishes,<br>

Dear TRIUMF post-docs and graduate students,
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class="">
<div class="">We would like to draw your attention to an event (<a
href="https://ipac18.org/wise/" class=""
moz-do-not-send="true">https://ipac18.org/wise/</a>) about
Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) that we are very
excited to be hosting on Tuesday May 1st from 6:30 pm as part
of the IPAC’18 International Particle Accelerator Conference
in downtown Vancouver, featuring a keynote speaker with dinner
and moderated “table-side panel” discussions over coffee. </div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class="">Although it is being held in the context of
IPAC’18, this event is not directed specifically to
accelerator physicists; separate registration is possible for
non-conference participants. It is intended to bring together
ideas from a broad segment of the local science and
engineering community, including students, post-docs and young
faculty and employees who are just starting their careers in
STEM, as well as senior faculty, administrators and employers
who want to improve hiring practices and foster more diversity
and equity in their institutions and companies. We want to
have voices from all sides, <span class=""
style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">from graduate
student to senior-most administrator, male and female, as
well as inside and outside of academia.</span> It will be an
opportunity to share perspectives, meet potential allies, and
develop tools to advance women’s careers and a framework to
consider equity, diversity and inclusion.</div>
<div class=""><br class="">
</div>
<div class="">A significant fraction of places have been set
aside for “local” (non-IPAC) participants, and a waitlist will
be organized if interest exceeds the room capacity. We hope
you will consider attending, and will forward this message to
colleagues who might be interested.</div>
