Dear colleagues,<br>

I want to inform you about an open PhD student position in experimental<br>

nuclear physics available at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich,<br>

Germany, in a collaborative R&D project between LMU Munich and GSI/FAIR.<br>

<br>

The research activities of the PhD thesis project will be focused on<br>

fission isomer studies in actinides to be performed with the cryogenic<br>

buffer-gas stopping cell FRS Ion Catcher, including technical developments<br>

to advance the performance of the device.<br>

<br>

The successful candidate will be based at the GSI/FAIR research center in<br>

Darmstadt/Germany.<br>

The application deadline for the PhD position is August 31, 2020. For <br>

information about the thesis project and instructions on how to apply,<br>

please take notice of the attached project description.<br>
