As many of you have figured out, access to journals through UBC's ezproxy has been interrupted recently. If you are a postdoc at TRIUMF (or potentially a grad student) and don't have access to a journal subscription through a university, please see this email
below for information from John Behr about obtaining access via him and UBC.

I request this email and attachment can please go to all GAPS.

folks, I'm now being pressured to make certain all postdocs,
if they don't have e-access through other universities,
know they can get UBC library e-access by emailing adjuncts

*Valery Radchenko for Life Sciences
*Oliver Stelzer-Chilton for Particle Physics dept.
*Gerald Morris for condensed matter (better to just consult Rob Kiefl
or Andrew MacFarlane directly);
*And Me, yours truly, behr@triumf for anyone else.

We'll fill out a form (the conditions are attached) and you will get UBC
access tied through the adjunct faculty or faculty in question.

This is easy to do, and it's what UBC asks and wants us to do.
This method gets people above board, and will show UBC we are working in
good faith (for fixing this issue sometime next year, we hope).

p.s. there are rumors someone is sharing these barcode/pin combination.
That really shouldn't work, since it should be tied to the person's email
somehow... but either way if done this month,
that means it's actually tied to one of these adjunct's own
library access, so it's really unwise to try this because it could crash
the whole arrangement.
Much better to track by please just asking me to fill out this form for
your access.

thanks,
