Hello All,
The first journal (& snack club) of the year is this week.
Usual time place, Wednesday 3:30pm MOB Theory Room.
Please forward this to your new students who may not have signed up to the
list yet.
Lars Martin will be presenting this week's papers and guiding the
discussion.
As always, reading the paper is warmly encouraged but not required.

Questions to consider for the paper:
1. What is this r-process problem they're trying to address?
2. Do we think the primordial black holes their theory requires actually
exist?
3. If they do, is there anything that would prevent the process they
describe from happening?
4. In light of the recent observation of a neutron star collision, is this
explanation still "needed"?
