Hi everyone,<br>
<br>
Next week’s journal club will be on Wednesday, June 1st at 3:30 in
room 223. We will discuss<a
href="http://journals.aps.org/prc/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevC.93.014321">
"One-dimensionality in atomic nuclei: A candidate for linear-chain
alpha clustering in 14C"</a> (Phys. Rev. C 93, 014321).<br>
<br>
Here are a few questions:<br>
<br>
1. What are alpha-cluster states and what is so special about
linear-chain states?<br>
2. What is an active target time projection chamber and what
advantage do you have by using such a detector instead of e.g. a
silicon array?<br>
3. How are the resonances in 14C identified?<br>
4. What is AMD and why is it so popular for the description of
cluster states? <br>
5. Do you think the observed resonances are good candidates for
linear chain states?<br>
<br>
Cheers,<br>
Matthias
