<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space;" class=""><i class="">Media Advisory | For Immediate Release | Friday, February 5, 2016</i><br class=""><br class=""><b class="">Milestone Anniversary at World’s Largest Cyclotron</b><br class=""><br class="">(Vancouver, BC) – This coming Tuesday morning, TRIUMF will commemorate the 40th anniversary of commissioning of the world’s largest cyclotron – a particle accelerator driving cutting-edge science that has a tangible impact on our daily lives.<br class=""><br class="">The Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, and Terry Beech, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Science, will participate in the official celebration. <br class=""><br class="">Prior to the announcement, Minister Duncan will go on a private tour (open to registered media) to see key features of the TRIUMF facility. All media must check-in at the media registration area upon arrival with photo I.D. and credentials.<br class=""><br class="">Media wishing to join the TRIUMF tour with the Minister are asked to arrive at TRIUMF no later than 9:00 a.m. Those arriving later will not be able to join the tour.<br class=""><br class="">As TRIUMF is a working physics laboratory, there are some safety considerations to be aware of when on site.
