<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">After considerable consultation amongst the student program office, Reiner, HR, and the ALDs, <b>we have made the difficult decision to cancel the undergraduate student program for the summer
term.</b> Effective immediately we will be rescinding all offers for the summer student work term, including students that were scheduled to continue their term into the summer. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">That said, we decided further that these students will be offered first right of refusal if the "same job" is offered in any one of the Fall 2020, Winter 2021, or Summer 2021 terms. We recognize
that some jobs are project based and those projects might not be active in subsequent terms. If this is the case and you end up having a job where the description may be different that you requested for the summer term, we ask that you guarantee the affected
summer student at least an interview for the job that you or your group does have.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black"> </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">We hope this measure will lessen the impact on these unfortunate students and as well help preserve TRIUMF’s reputation as a top-notch co-op employer. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
