Dear grad students and postdocs,

the next event will be on Friday, May 2nd at 12:00 in the main auditorium. Please register by selecting your pizza preference at
http://doodle.com/ikz9ccpen324wxde

This event will be a workshop on networking. Networking is essential in finding jobs whether it's in the academia or industry and important especially at this stage of our careers. Through talking to people face to face at conferences, job fairs and networking events you are able to present a more complete picture of yourselves to future employers than only with a c.v. and cover letter.

The workshop will be in the form of an interactive panel discussion. The panelists have extensive experience in networking as job seekers and employers. Here is the list of panelists:

Tim Meyer - Head of strategic planning and communication at TRIUMF
Matt Carolan - Project manager at TriNimbus (company for cloud computing)
Pamela Giberson - Research and innovation development officer at NSERC
Janis McKenna - Particle and nuclear physics professor at UBC

I hope to see you all on Friday!
Anadi

for the SGSPD committee:
Naomi Galinski (panel moderator)
Jonathan Kozaczuk
Ania Kwiatkowski
Travis Martin
Alejandro Puente
