We hope to see you there!

Speaker: Travis Martin
Title: An introduction to data science and machine learning for physicists
Abstract: Data science is effectively practical statistics - the new
buzz word for applying statistics principles to real world data. The job
market for data scientists has been growing faster than academia can
produce them, and a huge portion of data scientists took a degree in
physics. This talk will give a brief overview of data science as a
process, and discuss some basics about machine learning in a very
physics-friendly way."
