IsoSiM Summer School Opportunity

*IsoSiM / HGS-HIRe Summer School 2016*


 It is our pleasure to announce that the IsoSiM NSERC CREATE program
(University of British Columbia/ TRIUMF, Canada) and HGS-HIRe (Germany) are
jointly organizing a summer school on “*Isotopes for Science and Medicine”* to
be held in *Schmitten, Germany, 25 - 30 July, 2016.* This summer school is
targeted at Masters and Doctoral students as well as early career postdocs
working with radioisotopes in different areas of research. Please see the

*Program of the school*The summer school will cover the following topics:

   - *Accelerators:* O. Kester (GSI Darmstadt/ U. Frankfurt) and H.
   Klingbeil (GSI/ TU Darmstadt)
   - *Material Science: *M. Bender (GSI Darmstadt) and R. Usiskin (MPI
   Stuttgart)
   - *Marine Research*: S. Trimborn (AWI Bremerhaven)
   - *Nuclear Medicine & Imaging*: A. Denker (HZ Berlin) and J. Mannheim
   (U. Tübingen)
   - *Nuclear Physics & Astrophysics*: A. Arcones (TU Darmstadt) and Ch.
   Scheidenberger (GSI Darmstadt/U. Giessen)


 The school will include 3 days of lectures and discussions, and 1.5 day of
soft-skills development.




*Summer school venue*The summer school will take place in Martin-Niemöller
House in the cozy town of Schmitten at the foot of the Feldberg mountains
north of Frankfurt/Main. Please visit the website for further information.




*Summer school fees*There is no fee for the summer school and soft-skills
workshop. However, the participants will have to cover the costs for the
accommodation and travel.




*Registration*To be considered for the summer school, please register at
http://isosim.ubc.ca/summer-school-application-form  Registration deadline
is *31 May, 2016*. Successful applicants will be notified of their
acceptance in the first week of June.
