GAPS Three Minute Thesis Competition

Hi everyone,

The GAPS *Three Minute Thesis Competition* will be held next week on *Thursday
October 27*. Students and postdocs are invited to give a three minute (one
slide) presentation of their research, aimed at a scientifically literate
non-specialist audience (The actual audience will be your fellow GAPS
members, plus three judges from the lab).

This is a great exercise in summarising what you do, and distilling it down
to the most important and interesting essence -- very helpful in job
interviews.

Additionally, *there will be prizes* for the top three finishers, as
selected by our panel of judges. Amazon gift cards worth $150, $75, and $25
for first, second, and third, respectively.

If you would like to participate in the competition, please respond to this
email with
1. your name
2. the name of your supervisor (so we can avoid conflicts of interest in
the judges)
3. your title (if you have one already)
