Student Financial Support Survey & All GAPS meeting reminder

Dear GAPS members,

This is a reminder that the All GAPS Meeting will take place at 2pm in the MOB auditorium. In the meeting we will discuss some results from the GAPS survey and hopefully generate some discussion on related issues, including how the GAPS committee can improve. This meeting replaces the usual GAPS coffee & cookie hour.

In addition to the GAPS survey discussion, Reiner will be delivering an update on some changes to graduate student status at TRIUMF and financial support for graduate students. Please see the message below from Reiner and fill out the financial support survey. This will help TRIUMF management understand the current level financial support students receive. The survey is completely confidential and is you have any questions then please let Reiner know.

Dear TRIUMF Graduate Students,

As we have communicated in the past, TRIUMF intends to appoint all graduate students as Resident Graduate Students if they are spending a significant amount of time, typically more than 50% of their research time, at TRIUMF during a period of more than 4 months during their thesis research.

We are asking all graduate students who reside at TRIUMF to fill out this survey, independent of the source of financial support:

The survey will remain open until January 14, 2020.

All survey data will be treated with 100% confidentiality. Information received will be reviewed solely by (TRIUMF Human Resources and the Deputy Director, Research) as part of the appointment process. Any questions about survey confidentiality can be directed to reinerk at
