Dear Colleagues,

The ARIEL Scientific Steering Committee (ASSC) Review will take place Tuesday, Oct 22 and Wednesday, Oct. 23. The presentations in the Auditorium on Tuesday are open to everyone and you are invited to come and learn about the status of the ARIEL project.

The ARIEL Scientific Steering Committee (ASSC) meets twice a year. Their charge is:

  * Perform ongoing evaluations of feasibility and of the project plan for each phase of ARIEL-II
  * Monitor in detail the progress for the major technical elements of the project and track these against milestones, capital budgets, manpower, and scope
  * Evaluate project management, including the tools and metrics in place to track progress, the systems engineering approach, and risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  * Provide recommendations to keep the project on budget, on schedule, and within scope, so as to ensure timely delivery of the science outlined in the proposal

The agenda can be found here:

Best regards,

Silke
on behalf of Oliver Kester
