Virtual Journal Club

[Gaps]

Dear GAPS members,

We are pleased to announce the return of Journal Club, which will now be supported by the GAPS committee.

Journal Club is an opportunity to get together with your peers to discuss a recent publication, ask questions, and learn something new.

How it works:

Every week one participant chooses a publication to deliver a brief (5-10 min) summary presentation on. Prior to the meeting, the presenter sends out at least 5 questions about the paper to kick start discussion amongst the other participants. At the end of each meeting the presenter nominates someone to present at the next meeting.

When:

The first meeting will take place THIS THURSDAY at 2pm via BlueJeans (link posted below). The first presenter will be Dr. Matthew Williams. The paper he has chosen to present is titled:


"Improved Limit on Neutrinoless Double-Beta Decay in 130 Te with CUORE"

We will be hosting the virtual journal club via BlueJeans. If you require an account you can easily get one by submitting a helpdesk ticket via the TRIUMF website. Just go to the 'Quick Links' page and click on 'HelpDesk' and submit a request for an account.
