Subject: Physics in Canada Special Issue on Inclusive Excellence: Request for interviews
Physics in Canada has approved TRIUMF for an article in their upcoming Special Issue on Inclusive Excellence, and I would like the opportunity to interview interested members of the Graduate and Post Doc community for the story.
For context, the Special Issue is intended to provide an opportunity to examine the larger state of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in the physics community in Canada, explore different paths towards addressing current challenges, and work towards building a stronger and more inclusive community for future generations. From the TRIUMF perspective, we have decided to take this opportunity to listen to and amplify the voices of those who may be feeling the effects of injustice and underrepresentation in Physics and STEM writ large. I’d like to conduct a few interviews to collect personal statements on EDI in the physics context, to be featured in our article.
If this sounds interesting, I’d appreciate it if you could share the message with your community and let folks know to get in touch (crodrigo at triumf.ca<mailto:crodrigo at triumf.ca>, or via chat on Teams). I’m also interested in interviewing you as members of the committee, so if you’d like to share a statement or want to chat, please let me know. I’m planning on interviewing throughout next week, in 30-60 min sessions.
Thanks for the time, hope to hear from you.
