Hi all,

As you may have already seen, this Thursday's colloquium at TRIUMF is being giving by Katie Mack, an astrophysicist/cosmologist from North Carolina State University who's well-known as a popular science communicator, specifically through her Twitter account @AstroKatie (https://twitter.com/AstroKatie<https://can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FAstroKatie&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cd189167581164be50a9c08d7af56b407%7Cc20535109cb34679a2d38f442e03b587%7C1%7C0%7C637170659227308937&sdata=TEwDAanXl5QBggG9bmYawDJgfA0OS5hR0pBqz6essRY%3D&reserved=0>). Dr. Mack also openly identifies as a queer scientist (https://www.500queerscientists.com/<https://can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.500queerscientists.com%2F&data=02%7C01%7C%7Cd189167581164be50a9c08d7af56b407%7Cc20535109cb34679a2d38f442e03b587%7C1%7C0%7C637170659227318934&sdata=78SMDXQz3XDkYpgf91eO%2B63T8Rgr2q88xGgPgzPw9Lg%3D&reserved=0>) and is an advocate for LQBTQ+ rights in science.

Iris Dillmann has reserved the auditorium for an extra hour and a half after the scheduled 2PM colloquium specifically for grads and post-docs to ask Dr. Mack any questions we might have about her research, science communication, or anything else! Consider joining us afterwards to talk with one of the giants in the field of science communication!
