style="font-size:12.8000001907349px">Data science is effectively
practical statistics - the new buzz word for applying statistics
principles to real world data. The job market for data
scientists has been growing faster than academia can produce
them, and a huge portion of data scientists took a degree in
physics. This talk will give a brief overview of data science as
a process, and discuss some basics about machine learning in a
