- and educating participants on writing and speaking for the science communications space/general public, learning tricks to engage the general public in their research. Participants will understand how to translate their academic writing into media forms
that resonate with other audiences - blog posts, editorials, science slam performances, etc. - and learn how to adapt their communications to other forms of media as well as where and how to present and distribute original media to engage others in their research. </span></p>

blog such a Science Writers and Communicators of Canada, so participants should have topic in mind with some basic research completed and an idea of why they think the public should care.</span></p>

presently a program coordinator for Genome Alberta and is the founder of Science Networkers - an organization that helps grad students and academics gain valuable insight into non-traditional career paths in science communication, policy and outreach. She
has also worked with Sci. Bio to organize professional development focused panels and seminars. "</span><br>
