Location: Auditorium

Speaker: Joakim Cederkall (MPI, Heidelberg/CERN)

Title: Three themes for experiments with radioactive beams.

Abstract: This presentation will try to connect experiences drawn from studies of exotic nuclear species using traditional methods such as fusion evaporation reactions to what could be achieved at new RNB facilities such as ISAC II. Examples will be given of pure nuclear structure studies, such as shell-evolution, and of indirect measurements of astrophysical interest. In this context conclusions concerning reaction channel separation drawn from experiments at REX-ISOLDE will be mentioned. Finally, some low-energy applications will also be discussed.

Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
