Title:     Accelerator Activities at VECC and in India

Abstract: The accelerator activities related to the room temperature cyclotron and the superconducting cyclotron at VECC, Kolkata, expected to be commissioned in 2006, will be covered. Emphasis will be given to the Radioactive Ion Beam facility developed at VECC in collaboration with SINP, TRIUMF, RIKEN and other international institutes. Applications of radioisotopes, the installation of a medical cyclotron and cancer tissue diagnostics will be touched upon. The synchrotron radiation sources at the Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore in India will also be emphasized. Future plans in accelerated related activities will be outlined.
