Title:     Beta-decay of 11Li

Abstract: The neutron halo of 11Li has been subject to intense studies since it was first proposed to explain the abnormally large ratio of the matter-to-charge radius of 11Li. In particular, the study of the beta-decay of 11Li is expected to shed light on how the weak interaction affects (and is affected by) the two neutrons composing the halo.

In this seminar, I will present the results of a 11Li beta-decay experiment done at ISAC/TRIUMF using the 8pi, a high-efficiency gamma-array of Compton-suppressed germanium detectors.
