Title:     The CIAE facility in Beijing and the BRIF RIB facility

Abstract: A brief introduction of CIAE will be given first and then some major tasks and activities of CIAE, e.g. four projects in progress in our institute, will be also introduced. One of the four projects, the Beijing Radioactive Ion-beam Facility will be presented in more detail. The facility is based on a 100 MeV 500 uA H- cyclotron as a primary accelerator, followed by a Tandem and a superconducting LINAC. Some design and R&D aspects for this facility will be given.
