Title: Measurement of radiative lifetimes, branching ratios, hyperfine structure, and isotope shifts in lanthanide ions

Abstract: I will describe an ongoing program at the University of Western Ontario to make high-precision measurements of atomic properties of astrophysical interest, primarily using single-frequency laser excitation on fast ion beams. The highly selective excitation produces clean measurements of isotope shifts, hyperfine structure, radiative lifetimes and branching ratios - all of importance in determining stellar abundances.

Stimulants available 15 minutes before the talk.
