Title:     ISAC charge state booster (CSB)

Abstract: For the operation of ISAC with masses above 30 increasing the charge state of the injected ions is essential to meet the acceptance of the accelerator. Therefore an ECR ion source has been chosen, where the singly charged ions from the target ion source can be injected. Inside the plasma of this source the ion charge will be increased, so that they are extracted as highly charged ions. The source has been set-up and operated on the ISAC ion source test-stand. Results and the planned on-line implementations will be discussed.
