Title: The MiniBooNE neutrino oscillations search

Abstract: The MiniBooNE experiment at Fermilab searched for the appearance of nue's in a beam of numu's with an energy and distance from source to detector that made it sensitive to numu->nue oscillations governed by a difference of squared masses of ~1 eV^2. The LSND experiment conducted in the 1990's at Los Alamos observed an excess of events over their expected background compatible with two neutrino oscillations of this type. The task of MiniBooNE was to test the numu->nue oscillation interpretation of this result. In this talk a brief overview of the detector and the analysis techniques used in the first oscillations result from MiniBooNE will be presented.
