Title:     Studying exotic nuclei with nuclear reactions

Abstract: Nuclear reactions offer the most diverse opportunities to study rare isotopes. However the extraction of the desired information, be it for structure or astrophysics, requires a reliable description of the reaction mechanism. Through a few specific examples, I will present theories for breakup and transfer reactions, and discuss what can (and what cannot) be learnt from such studies.
