Title: Mystery solved: Cosmic rays from pulsars and magnetars can explain ATIC, H.E.S.S, PAMELA, & Fermi observations.

Abstract: In this talk, I will give a brief introduction to cosmic rays and how
understanding their spectrum helps us to bolster our understanding of
the various exotic objects in the Universe. Then, the discussion will
shift towards the more recent anomalous observation of the total
electron-positron spectrum and the positron fraction; In particular the
bump seen by ATIC and H.E.S.S., and the positron excess seen by PAMELA.
Despite the various exotic dark matter models constructed to explain
this puzzle, we think the answer lies hidden in what we already know
about the best cosmic ray accelerators in our Universe: pulsars and
magnetars. I will argue that in combination with other cosmic ray
sources, eg. supernova remnants, both pulsars and magnetars can account
for the observed cosmic ray spectrum.
