Title: Lattice approach for studies of particles at unitarity
Abstract: I will present a new lattice formulation for studying systems
of strongly interacting, non-relativistic particles. In particular, we
are interested in the limit of unitarity, where all scales relevant to
the interaction vanish and the system becomes conformal. In addition to
being directly relevant to experiments involving trapped cold atoms, this
study serves as a starting point for lattice calculations of nuclei and
other many-body systems. I will begin with a description of studies of
unitary fermions in an external harmonic potential for up to N=70
fermions, and discuss some of the issues that emerge when extending the
calculation to large N. Then, I will discuss the addition of three-body
forces to the theory, with a preliminary study of bound states of
particles at unitarity (Efimov states) as a first example.
