Title:     Developing a World-Class Biomedical Imaging and Therapy Facility – Challenges, Risks and Unknowns

Abstract: The BMIT facility is designed for the purpose of imaging biological tissues, live animals - and potentially even humans - and conducting radiation therapy research. The facility includes two beamlines, that provide access to several new modes of imaging and very high-resolution 3D scans. This presentation describes the pathway for the development of BMIT facility as well as challenges faced during development, such as designing the facility that has to include future science needs and regulations.
