Title: The XENON100 Dark Matter experiment: status and prospects

Abstract: The XENON100 detector is a dual phase (liquid/gas) xenon time projection chamber (TPC) with a sensitive mass of 62 kg in a very low background environment. This sensitive volume is surrounded by a 99 kg active shield of liquid xenon, enclosed in a passive shielding and placed beneath a mile of rock and Earth at the Gran Sasso underground laboratory in Italy. The TPC technology allows for background discrimination based on the light to charge ratio, 3D event positioning and multiple scatterer tagging. In this talk the most recent results from XENON100 collaboration will be presented, along with the studies of the detector's performance and the projections for the future.

Feel free to bring your lunch
