Title:     20 years of pion physics at TRIUMF (and the building of a friendship with Grant Sheffer)

Abstract: Coming from Trieste, a small town in Italy, a bunch of then young physicists started a long lasting collaboration with TRIUMF’s researchers and staff. After a brief introduction of the present activity within the ALICE experiment at LHC, I will describe the TRIUMF experiments on pion absorption and pion induced pion production, and the related events of a never ending friendship with Grant Sheffer.
