Title: Neutrino Mass And Oscillations in Next Generation Experiments: From Digits to Physics

Abstract: Neutrinos are the least understood of the fundamental particles. They violate symmetries obeyed everywhere, transform into different types as they travel and have an exceedingly small mass not predicted by the Standard Model of particle physics. As such, they provide an important tool for gaining a deeper understanding of the basic nature of the universe.

Yet neutrinos are exceedingly hard to detect. They interactly only via the weak force, often requiring very large detectors to collect signals from the products of their interactions. The extraction of such a weak signal from backgrounds in a precision way requires extreme care, all along the complex chain from raw digital data up to intepretation of physical quantities.

In this talk, an overview of the process from signal detection up to the physics analysis of current neutrino experiments will be provided in the context of their physics goals, with insights over possible improvements for the next generation of neutrino experiments.
