Title:     Next generation long baseline neutrino oscillation experiments

Abstract: The principal future long baseline neutrino oscillation projects are DUNE and Hyper-Kamiokande based in USA and Japan, respectively. These experiments aim to probe the neutrino mixing and, in particular, look for the Charge-Parity violation in the lepton sector with powerful accelerator-based neutrino beams and massive underground detectors. The latter will also enable us to study a rich variety of physical phenomena from exploring the energy scale of the grand unification to glimpsing inside the cores of the collapsing stars. After an overview of the two experiments, I will cover the prototyping efforts for the DUNE liquid argon time projection chambers (LArTPCs) currently underway at CERN, focusing in particular on the novel dual-phase LArTPC detector design.
