Title: Collinear Laser Spectroscopy on Laser Ablated Calcium Ions  

Abstract: The presentation focuses on the MSc thesis work of Ms. Renth.

A laser ablation ion source has been built and tested at the COALA colinear fast beam laser spectroscopy beamline. Time-of-flight measurements for various elements are sufficiently accurate to confirm the production of the intended ion species. With this laser ablation source on the COALA beamline the isotope shift of 40Ca and 44Ca has been determined on bunched beams by collinear laser spectroscopy and compared to previous measurements.
