Title: Total Absorption Spectroscopy Measurements for Applications and Nuclear Structure

Abstract: https://bluejeans.com/501523748?src=join_info

Meeting ID: 501 523 748

------------------------------
Total absorption spectroscopy is one of few methods available that provide beta-decay data free from the systematic error called "Pandemonium effect". The technique is particularly important for nuclear structure, in cases where a proper determination of the beta-decay strength in the daughter nucleus is necessary.

The technique can also be relevant for practical applications, where beta-decay data is needed, like the determination the reactor antineutrino spectrum in reactors and the decay heat.

In this talk, I will present the technique, and present some examples of recent measurements of relevance for reactor applications and nuclear structure. The neutrino related results are of particular interest in relation to the so-called antineutrino reactor anomaly.

Note earlier time: 11am PDT!
