FYI - The ECS H323 video service is dropping the 82 conference prefix,
and adding support for HD video.

I have not yet tested the new connections. The old 85 prefix should still
work.

Dear ECS Video Users,

We are pleased to announce that the new video system is now available.
The June 7th outage window has been reset for 4 pm - 6pm PDT. The ECS
video services including ISDN/phone gateway will not be available during
that time. This outage will not affect ECS ReadyTalk service. We apologize
for any inconvenience this may cause. If you experience any problems
contact us at trouble at es.net or call 800-333-7638. Further information can
be found at http://www.ecs.es.net

How will this affect users?
We hope very little; however, some changes are unavoidable such as a new
Audio/ISDN phone number is required and the prefix 82 is no longer
available.

What do I have to do?
Here are a few things you will have to check:

Current users:
ECS registration and E.164 number.
No changes are required to your ECS registration information. E.164 and
ECS registration information will be transferred to the new system.

Gatekeeper information.
Please check the gatekeeper address in your end point, if you have a ECS
preferred gatekeeper configured, then you do not have to make any changes
here. Valid ECS gatekeeper addresses are:
    198.129.252.168 (primary)
    198.129.252.170 (secondary)
    gk1.es.net
    gk2.es.net
    gk.es.net (preferred)

If you do not have a preferred ECS gatekeeper configured in your
end-point, please contact your system administrator.

Dialing info:

Prefixes.
If you use prefixes 85 or 88, no changes are required. Prefix 82 will no
longer be supported in the new system. If you used prefix 82 you will have
to simply change that to one of the other system prefixes. They are:
       85, 88 (Standard definition)
       75, 78 (High definition)

HD Service Guidance:
To select a HD service prefix:
Use 75 or 78 if all or most sites are using HD systems
Use 85 or 88 if all or most sites are using standard definition (SD)
systems

Each HD prefix has twenty ports. If port capacity is reached on a prefix
only audio will be transmitted to subsequent connecting sites. The ECS HD
MCUs will be monitored for usage.

Global Dialing Scheme (GDS).
No changes are required for GDS calling.
The existing GDS prefix "0011349" will be transferred to the new system
and you can continue using it.

Audio calls and ISDN dialing.
The dial-in numbers have changed: 510-423-9220 is the new number to use
for dialing an ECS conference. Follow the voice prompts to connect to your
ECS conference.

510-883-7860 will no longer connect you to an ECS conference.

All users and end-point administrators:
You may wish to print ECS Video Quick Tips, available at
http://www.ecs.es.net/video/Video-Info.html for conference rooms or shared
end-points.

Rebooting your video end station
Depending on your end station you may be required to reboot it so that it
will register (negotiate) with the gatekeeper.

Sincerely,
The ECS Team
