To the TRIUMF community,

TRIUMF is starting to prepare its Five-Year Plan 2020-2025, a report
that will define TRIUMF's mission and vision, communicate the lab's
goals and priorities, and lay out an action plan for the period
2020-2025 and beyond.

The Five-Year Plan will underpin TRIUMF's request for operational
funding from the Government of Canada.

The 2020-2025 Five-Year Plan will be shaped in part through broad
community consultation, which will have two major elements:

1.A series of workshops during this summer's *Science Week* to discuss
TRIUMF's scientific priorities and operational objectives for the next
Five Year Plan. Science Week will take place at TRIUMF from *July 10-15,
2017. Save the date!* Details on the format of the workshops will be
announced during the next few weeks.

2.A formal *call for proposals* for any and all activities that might
involve commitments of TRIUMF resources and expertise during the five
years covered by the plan. The exact timeline will be announced in a few
weeks, but it will involve a *submission deadline in the late summer or
early fall, 2017*.

TRIUMF's Policy and Planning Advisory Committee (PPAC) will be
responsible for reviewing and analyzing all Five-Year Plan proposals. As
part of this process, PPAC will prioritize the submissions and offer
recommendations to the TRIUMF Director. Details on the types and format
of submissions as well as the submission process will be provided in the
forthcoming announcement.

TRIUMF has published a webpage to serve as the primary online resource
for information about the 2020-2025 5YP development process and the
various consultations with stakeholders. You can access it here,

Sincerely,

Reiner Kruecken

Deputy Director
