[FLUKA-TRIUMF] Fluka version 2021.2.6 available on TRCOMP nodes

Hi everyone,

The latest Fluka respin, version 2021.2.6 is now available on TRCOMP resources.

Kel and I are trying to make it easier to use FLUKA in general, and to make multiple versions available in parallel (so you can wrap up work before upgrading) by making bundles that combine compatible versions of FLUKA/Flair/gfortran in a single loadable unit using the “module” system.

In general, for the latest version of Fluka, log in to any node and run:

module load flair

For a specific version of Fluka, load it first, then load Flair:

module load fluka/2021.2
module load flair

CAUTION: anything you have in your configuration panel inside flair will override these commands (which rely on aliases and environment variables), and you might have some issues trying to compile or run jobs with incompatible versions because of that.  Make sure you check that the Flair configuration panel is blank before emailing this list, me or opening a Helpdesk ticket.

The file ~/.flair/fair.ini in your home directory may hold a saved version of this configuration.  Delete the “flukadir” entry in it if you run into issues.
