2026 CAP/CAPF Graduate Student Scholarships
Accepting Applications


The CAP is now accepting applications for the CAP/CAPF Graduate Student Scholarships listed below. Click on the links associated with each scholarship for eligibility criteria and application instructions.

It is only through the generous donations received from members and friends that the CAP, through its Foundation<https://crm.cap.ca/civicrm/mailing/url?u=11367&qid=1555966>, is able to offer the following student scholarships. Consider making a charitable, tax-deductible donation to the Foundation <https://crm.cap.ca/civicrm/mailing/url?u=11368&qid=1555966> to support its activities.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Applications can be submitted in both official languages, French or English; however, the application system interface is in English only.

Allan Carswell Physics Educator Scholarship

– awarded annually -

Do you have a passion for both physics and physics pedagogy? If so, and you are about to graduate or have recently graduated with a B.Sc. in physics and plan to pursue a teaching degree starting the Fall of 2026, please consider applying for the 2026 Allan Carswell Physics Educator Scholarship.

This scholarship recognizes the critical importance and value of having people who are trained in, and passionate about, physics engaging young Canadians in the classrooms of this country.

Up to 2 scholarships, valued at up to $5,000 Cdn, are awarded every year.

Boris P. Stoicheff Memorial Graduate Scholarship

- awarded in even years -

Awarded to a CAP Graduate Student Member who has demonstrated both research excellence and significant service to either the optics (Optica) community or the physics (CAP) community.

One scholarship, valued at $3,000 Cdn, is awarded every other year.
